The Tswana culture with its many superstitions, has made us realize that our children, even though they are Christians, do not understand basic Biblical principles and how Christians should live according to it. Recently one of our teenage girls fell pregnant and through conversations with parents and the children, made us realize that they do not know that according to the Bible, sex before marriage is wrong. Celebrations!

It’s party time! After many months of planning and dreaming, we celebrated this week the opening of the new Mosaic Centre.  The ceremony kicked off with our very own Master of Ceremonies, Clinton leading the way.  Clinton is one of our first foster children. Speeches and thank you’s were accompanied with some great entertainment from our Made by Mosaic staff and children.   The ceremony formalities were followed by the symbolic cutting of the ribbon by Judith, our eldest and one of the first foster children. Paying it forward

“Even the smallest act of caring for another person is like a drop of water -it will make ripples throughout the entire pond...” Jessy and Bryan Matteo The Mosaic children have always been in the fortunate position of receiving, however giving is also an important value we strive to instill within them. This month our German volunteers took the children to the Potchefstroom Hospital. Here they visited the children’s ward and handed out blankets to the children there. Celebrating our volunteers

A volunteer: "a person who voluntarily offers himself or herself for a service or undertaking" - Dictionary.com. Every year, we are joined by a group of German volunteers who dedicate a year or less to serve with Mosaic. Without any form of financial reward, they leave South Africa with the knowledge that they have made a tremendous difference in the lives of our children. Without our volunteers, our everyday logistics will not be possible. Here is just an idea of what they do during their time in South Africa.
