Social Development

After-School Program

Social Development among foster children over the age of six years is achieved through formal after-school activities that are facilitated by full-time volunteers at the Mosaic Centre. These activities include computer classes, tutoring, and English language classes as well as other recreational activities such as drama and sports.

Life Skills Training

Developing foster parents on a social level is done through life skills training. Life skills training for parents and foster parents of children happens on a monthly basis and covers subjects such as basic parenting, basic hygiene and basic financial literacy. The foster parents living in Mosaic foster homes undergo more intense life skills training on a weekly basis facilitated by Mosaic’s social worker.
