The Mosaic Trust was created to support Mosaic Community Developments, NPC through it’s income generating investment strategy.
Our reason for existence is twofold:
- Generate sustainable income for Mosaic Community Developments, an orphan & vulnerable child (OVC) care organisation, through the cultivation of strategic, income generating, business partnerships in South Africa.
- Creating job opportunities within these partnerships for caretakers of OVC who form part of Mosaic programs, as well as for OVC graduates from the Mosaic program.
The Mosaic Trust is a 100% black owned entity with a combined group turnover in excess of R665 million, combined net assets in excess of R22 million and combined net profit of just over R8 million for 2020. Investments in companies are diversified between Construction, Mining services, ICT, Training, Food production and Manufacturing.
We are strategic about adding value to investee companies. We open networks, add value on investee boards and work closely with management teams to positively influence business growth through our expertise in financial management, systems development and BBBEE strategies.
Our investment strategy is to acquire significant interests (10%-51%) in growth and cash generative businesses with EV’s of < R50m. Depending on the size of the business we invest in; we may have representation on the respective company boards and sub-committees to drive our strategic sustainability agenda.
