ABOUT MOSAIC
Founded in 2008, Mosaic works to accomplish its vision through the intersection of direct OVC-care, partnering with other OVC-care organizations, and serving the wider orphan care industry by building systems and facilitating communities of best practice around these systems.
Here’s what’s truly unique about Mosaic: Mosaic has taken a systemic approach to orphan-care in order to effect change on this scale without taking its boots off the ground. Mosaic’s families live in homes surrounding one of its three brick and mortar community centers in South Africa.
Mosaic then partners with local organizations in additional locations across the country; giving these organizations the mentorship, blueprints, guideposts, and systems needed to implement Mosaic’s OVC-care model right in their own backyard. Finally, Mosaic impacts the entire orphan care sector through building systems and facilitating communities that share best practices. There are no other known orphan-care organizations that maintains this unique three-pronged approach.
By taking an approach to orphan care that is all at once deep, systemic, and broad in its impact, Mosaic is truly revolutionizing the orphan care space across the entire continent, starting with its home base in South Africa.

Mosaic Deben cares for the heart and drive of children!![]()
Most children of the Deben area do not have access to everyday opportunities like athletics. That is why they reached out to schools in the surrounding area and proposed an Athletics Day. The kids ran their hearts outs and enjoyed every second of it. A special shoutout to Laerskool Kathu Primary Amptelik, for making this event possible!![]()
